This Commentary details key challenges and opportunities relating to the promotion of food security in Inuit Nunangat, discussed as part event “Moving from understanding action on Nunangat”, convened at ArcticNet Annual Scientific Meeting 5th December 2022 Toronto. The purpose was explore for northern communities, mobilize knowledge current future programming. A range stakeholders across Nunangat Canada were involved, including representatives Tapiriit Kanatami Nutrition North Canada, territorial, regional, community co-ordinators government delegates, academics, members. Points discussion day included integration culturally appropriate country foods into programming; importance human financial resources program success; interactions between COVID-19, climate change, security; classification “households” surveys; crucial school programs reducing income stress families.
